Hello there
Today's card is a birthday card using the new In Colors, Crumb Cake, whisper white card stocks along with the jumbo wheel Friendly Words & the stamp set Printed Petals.

Inside:
There is also a clear rhinestone brad in the middle of the flowers. I know that I have spelt "colors" the american way but that is how it is spelt in the IB&C so that's they way it must be!!!

Thanks for looking,

Upside down......

Hi all,

Today's card is one I made for my special little friend Flynn who has recently turned 4.

This is my first attempt at fancy water colouring & I really like the way it turned out. I'm pretty impressed with the way it looks & the little boy reminds me of Flynn with his brown curls.

Brocade blue & old olive card stock, watercolour paper, markers, aqua painter, silver brad, lots of tags die, brocade blue ribbon, tall tales dsp. Image from Kazzaz.

Thanks for looking & please leave a comment if you like what you see. It'd be nice to know that people are taking the time to look at my blog.

Thanks

Jody

Get well wishes......

One of my best friends recently had some major surgery on her head, so I thought this card was pretty appropriate (but only if you have a silly sense of humour!!!).

You can see the sparkle a little better with this close up. I have used a new stamp set called "To a Classic" & thought the banged up car was perfect as she gets my silly humour most of the time!!

Thanks for looking

Back from holiday.....

Well after a week in sunny Grantham in QLD visiting my family, my kids and myself have returned home to temps of a chilly 10-15 ˚C. The sun is shining beautifully but the winds are cold.
In an effort to warm myself up I am showing you a “z” fold card with the retired but still gorgeous Pink Flamingo DSP. I love the bright colours in the paper & by adding just a little Dazzling Diamonds to the cut out flower it puts a bit of a sparkle to everything.

Sorry the last pic is blurry!!
I have received my first order from the new IB&C & just don’t know where to start with it all. I have many cards & gifts to make but my mojo still seems to be on holiday!!!
Thanks for stopping by today & if you have any questions leave me a comment, I would love to hear from you.

Sparkling Grace

Today's posting is all about a lovely little flap card that I have made. It is using the Level 1 hostess set Organic Grace which will be retiring at the end of August.

The is the flap card closed. It is held together with white 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I have used a number of punches to put behind the cut out flower. I used wide oval, large oval & 1 3/8" circle. I used my paper snips to cut perfectly around the flower which is stamped in pretty in pink & then the 2-way glue pen helps the dazzling diamonds to stay put. The patterned paper is from the Level 1 hostess set Patterns pack II.

Here is a close up of the "blingy" flower.

Inside the flap card. I have lined the inside with a piece of pretty in pink c/s & used my sizzlets lots of tags die to cut out the piece in Kraft at the bottom. Then I have stamped the sentiment in chocolate chip ink.
I have made a different version of this card with a pocket on the inside to hold a gift card but you could also use a little Dotto on the plastic gift card & just stick it down leaving it exposed.

Thanks for looking,
Jody

Congratulations.......

Hello
Today's card features the Friends 24/7 stamp set plus a greeting from one of the stamps in Fun & Fast Notes.

Using my stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect placement, I first stamped the "medallion" stamp with Rose red in the centre, then without cleaning my stamp I stamped into Basic Black ink then onto my card. I actually didn't know what a wonderful effect I would get but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I think on my next version of this card I will add a Rose Red c/s layer between the white & black & maybe emboss the Rose Red image.

I also used my Sizzlets "lots of tags" dies to cut out the little piece that the sentiment is on. I have used a silver brad to hold it in place. My next version I will use a Rhinestone brad for a bit more bling!! The words "congratulations" is from the cake stamp in the Fun & Fast Notes set, I have simply inked up only the words then stamped onto my tag.

I have prettied up the inside by stamping a lone "medallion" image just for a bit of interest. I don't normally decorate the insides of my cards but I thought on such a special card, why not!!

I have a friend in mind who this card would be perfect for as she recently got married.

Thanks for looking,

Jody

Embracing Life.......

I should be doing more of this!!!! As Embrace Life is retiring at the end of August making way for new stamps in the upcoming Ideas Book & Catalogue I thought I should share some cards that I have made with this set.

I have used Whisper White craft ink for the flower then I have gone over the outline with Crystal Effects.
Again I have used Crystal Effects on the pixie pink c/s flowers to highlight the stamens a little.

Stampin' Pastels became my friend in this version!!!

The flower pot card was used as a demo card in one of my first workshops! It stood up well from being handled by all of the curious ladies who attended.
And finally the easel card has to be one of my favourite styles at the moment. It is simple but very effective & I'm sure anyone would like to receive one in the mail.

Good morning sunshine........

As the title suggests it is a lovely sunny day here but still quite cold. My card today is showing how wonderful the Good Morning Sunshine DSP is. As the papers are double sided I have simple cut 2 strips from 2 different papers then reversed one of each to get 4 different patterns on my card.

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Hello Again
Cardstock: Whisper White, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Ink: So Saffron
Accessories: Bone Folder, Snail, So Saffron ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch

This is how I made my card:

  • I have cut my c/s at 10.5cm then scored & folded at 14.8cm. This makes the card appear taller & has become my favourite way to fold cards.
  • I have cut 4 strips of DSP from 2 different sheets. Then I turned over one of each of the 2 different strips so I had 4 different patterns showing.
  • On the white c/s strip at the top of the card I have scored every cm or so to give an interesting texture & also used the scallop edge punch on the bottom edge.
  • Using So Saffron I stamped the "hello" on the top.
  • I then adhered a length of ribbon to the card & added the bow part with adhesive.

I am also testing out my new watermark on my photo.

Thanks for visiting

Trendy Trees

Good afternoon all
Trendy Trees has become a favourite set of mine lately (mainly because it is the only male oriented set I own!). It's a set that is easy to use free-hand or with the aid of the stamp-a-ma-jig. I love my stamp-a-ma-jig as I tend to stamp a bit lopsided at times so this helps perfectly. I find that it also helps if your hands are a little unsteady too.

Enough jibber-jabber, here is a pic of the card:

Recipe:
Stamp set: Trendy Trees, Happy Moments
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive
Accessories: Snail, sponge, Stamp-a-ma-jig

This was a super easy card to make, here is how I did it!

  • I stamped the trunks in Chocolate Chip evenly along the Whisper White cardstock
  • Using my Stamp-a-ma-jig I then lined up the tree tops & stamped them with Old Olive ink
  • I then stamped the sentiment at the top
  • Using a sponge I then sponged Old Olive all over the Whisper White to soften it a little
  • Finally I assembled it all & now it's ready to send off.

That's it for today,

Jody

Bella Bleu Voucher Holder

Hello again,

I've been doing a little card making lately & have a number of cards to show you as soon as I get to photograph & upload them. In the meantime I have a gift voucher holder to show you that I made many months ago.....

Recipe:

Stamp set: Friends 24/7

Ink: Night of Navy

Card stock: Kraft, Night of Navy, Bella Bleu DSP, Whipser White

Accessories: Snail, corner rounder punch, mat pack, paper piercer, button

The voucher holder is sturdy enough to be given as is or you could wrap in tissue paper if need be. This would make a snazzy little gift for that crafty person in your life (I know I wouldn't mind getting given one!!!)

Thanks for taking the time out to check out my blog,

Jody

I'm Back......

Well I finally have my internet problems sorted out so will be back to posting on a regular basis (I hope!!).

Today I have a card to show that uses the Level 2 Hostess set Rustic Rooster.

Card Recipe:

Stamp Set: Rustic Rooster, Level 2 Hostess set

Cardstock: Kraft, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Versamark

Accessories: Spiral punch, clear embossing powder, heat tool, embossing buddy, stamp-a-ma-jig, snail adhesive

I made the card this way:

  • First I stamped the rooster in versmark then straight into the rich razzleberry ink & onto the white card. (First off I used the embossing buddy on the c/s so the embossing powder won't stick to where it's not wanted).
  • Then I poured clear embossing powder over the stamped image & shook the excess back into the container & heated with the heat tool until the embossing powder was raised & shiny.
  • I used the spiral punch on the left hand side & have torn the right side then roughed all the edges with my fingernail.
  • Using the stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped the script image all over the Rich razzleberry c/s.
  • Finally I adhered the white c/s onto the rich razzleberry c/s then onto the kraft base.

If you have any questions on this card or anything please let me know by email or give me a call.

Thanks

Jody

Massive Medallion.....

Hi I'm back again

I have had a few internet issues but all is fine for the moment. Here a few projects I have been working on lately.

I have stamped the Medallion stamp in Rich Razzleberry onto Whisper White cs then I have cut the cardstock into 4 & layered it all onto Orchid Opulence then onto Rich Razzleberry. I have added some Dazzling Diamonds around the circle of the medallion to give a little sparkle.

I have cased this card from the current IB&C but changed it up using Cottage Wall DSP, Rich Razzleberry cs & the Eyelet border punch. It is a simple design with a pretty effect, I think anyway.

This one has also been cased from the IB&C using the Organic Grace Hostess Set (level 1).
Thanks for looking,
Jody

Yesterday Rory had his birthday party with his little friends. I have a photo of the train cake that I made for his party. I am quite impressed with how it turned out.

Here is a card I completed a while back:

This style is called "Joy Fold". Out of all of the cards I have made this would have to be one of the easiest & fastest.

Recipe:
Stamp set: Cottage Garden
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence
Accessories: Cottage Wall DSP, Snail, Dimensionals

Thanks for taking a look,

Jody

Baby Boy no more.....

Well my baby boy celebrated his 2nd birthday yesterday (14th). He had a great day with lots of presents & even scored himself a "big boy bike" and mastered riding it in about 20 minutes....Our loungeroom floor now looks like a miniture railway with all of the Thomas The Tank Engine tracks & accessories but the boy sure does love his "choo choo's".

Here is the birthday card I made for my Rory.

I have wheeled the track on first then used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the train & carriages & also the present stacks. I coloured in the presents with Stampin' Pastels & blender pen. I punched out a scallop circle & & inked up my sponge with Brocade Blue ink to make the sky & clouds. Finally I used Versamark to stamp little "happy birthday" all over the white spaces on the card.

Recipe: Stamp set: Choo Choo (retired), Right on track wheel(retired), Happy Moments (retired)
Ink: Brocade Blue, basic black, Versamark
Cardstock: Whisper white, Brocade Blue
Accessories: Stampin' around handle, Stampin' Pastels, snail, Blender Pens, Scallop circle punch, sponges, Stamp-a-ma-jig

And here is the train cake he had after his family birthday dinner. He is having a party on Saturday & I will show you the cake I made for it after the party.

The final picture is of my gorgeous 2 year old boy Rory.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog,

Jody
